Pace at Navarre

• Records: Navarre (5-0); Pace (2-3)

• Players to watch: NAV — RB Hasaan Williams, LB Xavier Fernandez, DB Michael Sandle; PACE — DB A.J Nash, RB Anthony Johnson Jr., DB Chas Russel.

• Skinny: The Raiders will seek to stay perfect against District 2-6A opponent Pace. Pace’s Anthony Johnson Jr. (873 yards, 10 TDs) will lead the area’s top rushing attack against Navarre’s Hassan Williams (438 yards, 4 TDs) and Aaron Mitchell (232 yards, 5 TDs) as two of the area’s premier rushing attacks clash. Navarre’s defense holds an edge and could likely be the difference here.

Catholic at Florida High

• Players to watch: CATH — DB Simeon Smiley, WR A.J. Yates, RB Abram Smiley.

• Skinny: Abram Smiley (674 rushing yards, 6 TDs) will seek to get Catholic’s run game going early in a tough District 1-3A test. It will be a tough hill to climb, with the Seminoles being the district favorite.

Jay at Baker

• Kickoff: 7 p.m.

• Where: Baker High

• Records: Jay (0-5); Baker (3-2)

• Players to watch: JAY — QB Victor Mishoe, LB/WR Matthew Saylor, RB Braden Cross.

• Skinny: As defending District 1-1A champs, Baker will make it tough for Jay to get its first win here. The Gators enter the game averaging 35 points per game.

Maplesville (Ala.) at Northview

• Kickoff: 7 p.m.

• Where: Northview High.

• Records: Maplesville (5-1); Northview (1-3)

• Players to watch: NOR — QB Gavin Grant, DB Jacob Dunsford, DL LaDarrius Thames

• Skinny: The Red Devils enter this game averaging more than 35 points per game. Northview holds the momentum from coming off its first win last week. The Chiefs made a big statement with their defense last week, but they’ll need to raise the ante this Friday.

PHS at Bay

• Kickoff: 7 p.m.

• Where: Tommy Oliver Stadium

• Records: Bay (4-0); PHS (3-2).

• Players to watch: PHS— LB Robert Reeves, QB Sederick Smith, WR Deandre Norman.

• Skinny: The Tigers will eye consecutive wins as they head to face the Bay Tornadoes in Panama City this week. Bay is ranked in the top-10 of Class 5A teams in Florida, but the Tigers might have more to prove. With a win here, PHS may look like the favorite in District 1-5A.

Washington at Tate

• Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.

• Where: Tate High.

• Records: WHS (0-5); Tate (3-1)

• Players to watch: WASH — OL Alex Leatherwood; WR Tyree Jackson; DB Niko Floyd; Tate — LB Dalston Decoux, WR Jake Henry, RB Dee Thompson.

• Skinny: The Aggies should be super-primed for a win this week after a three-point loss to Niceville. The Wildcats will show hunger too, after suffering an even tighter loss than Tate did last week. This will be a critical match in the most competitive district in town.
