An FIR was registered at the Gulbahar police station of district Central in Karachi
KARACHI: Karachi police on Thursday registered a treason case against senior Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Mohammad Anwar, who resides in London, United Kingdom.
Anwar is already facing a money laundering case in London, and was released on bail after remaining in custody for 10 hours at the Central London police station in April this year.
An FIR No 148/15 under Sections 123 A, 124 A, 153, 153-A, 506-B of the Pakistan Penal Code was registered at the Gulbahar police station of district Central on the complaint of a citizen, Imran Bikik.
The complainant, according to sources, is a cousin of Shahid Bikik, a late worker of the banned Peoples Aman Committee.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Imran said he lodged the FIR as a citizen of Pakistan, and believes the MQM leader was a RAW agent hatching conspiracies against the country.
“Being a Pakistani, I cannot tolerate the actions of such people anymore,” he said.
Police officials also confirmed registration of the FIR, adding that further investigation was ongoing.
