Park Tudor’s Will Emhardt and Jack Enkema captured the No. 2 doubles spot with a 6-3, 6-3 win as the third-ranked Panthers escaped with a 3-2 win over Brebeuf Jesuit in the high school boys tennis sectional at Park Tudor on Wednesday. The Panthers will face Pike, a 5-0 winner over Tech, in the finals at 5 p.m. Thursday.
The top-ranked Greyhounds breezed to a 5-0 win over University to set up a meeting with Guerin Catholic in Thursday’s 4:15 p.m. finals. The Golden Eagles defeated Westfield 4-1.
At Franklin Central
Roncalli and Franklin Central each scored 5-0 wins to advance to Thursday’s championship match.
Perry Meridian’s Andrew Denning captured No. 1 singles without dropping a game and the Falcons moved into today’s semifinals against Scecina with a 5-0 over Shortridge. Decatur Central and Southport will square off in the other semifinal, both matches starting at 5 p.m.
At North Central
Host and No. 2 ranked Panthers along with No. 16 Cathedral, both breezed into Thursday’s 4:15 p.m. finals with 5-0 wins over Broad Ripple and Bishop Chatard, respectively.
At Hamilton Southeastern
Neighbors will square off in Thursday’s 4:30 p.m. title match as host and No. 22 HSE will play No. 24 Fishers after each won 5-0 in Wednesday’s semifinals. The Royals downed Hamilton Heights and the Tigers defeated Noblesville.
At Ben Davis
The host Giants dropped only three games, none at singles positions, earning a 5-0 win over Speedway. Ben Davis plays Cardinal Ritter and Cripus Attucks faces Covenant Christian at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in semifinal matches.
At Center Grove
Grant Bryant scored a 7-2 win in a third set tiebreaker to earn victory at No. 3 singles as Greenwood edged the host Trojans 3-2. The Woodman face Franklin and Indian Creek battles Whiteland at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in semifinal matches.
Plainfield won matches at No. 3 singles and both doubles spots to slip past Danville 3-2. The Quakers will play Mooresville while the host No. 15 Orioles will battle Brownsburg Thursday at 5 p.m. in semifinal matches.
At Mt. Vernon
Greenfield-Central scored a 4-1 win over Pendleton Heights to move into Thursday’s semifinals against Mt. Vernon. New Palestine and Eastern Hancock square off in the other semifinal, both matches beginning at 5 p.m.
At Lawrence North
Lawrence North slipped past Heritage Christian 3-2 while Lawrence Central beat Warren Central 3-2 to set up Thursday’s 5 p.m. finals matchup between the Wildcats and Bears.
