Rain and flooding killed 41 people in India
NEW DELHI / AHMEDABAD: Gujarat devastated by heavy rains and floods have killed 41 people in the 30 villages were cut off from the rest of the regions. Thousands of people moved to safer places, 2 Mi-17 helicopters of the Indian Air Force are engaged in rescue operations. Gujarat Meteorological Department has predicted more rains in the coastal region.
According to Indian media Rajkot and Amreli district of Gujarat State 2 because of heavy rains and floods in more than 41 people were killed and several houses were leveled. Both districts have continued to rain on Wednesday, which is accumulation of water in low-lying areas, the Somnath Rajkot and Amreli, Junagadh, Surendranagar districts of Dwarka and there are also reports of heavy rain.
Rain caused by power supply and rail traffic has been badly affected, officials said floods and rains collapsed the roofs of several homes in more than a dozen people have been killed. Rajkot District Magistrate 17 villages on the banks of the river, about 4 thousand people have been evacuated to safer places.
