cPanel License Expired-How to Activate WHM License
One fine day I tried to open my cPanel. Made the login with username and password but whoa!
Instead of opening the cpanel interface it showed me a page saying “In order to access the interface, you will need to make sure that the software license on this server is active and installed.”
Later I came to know that it is just a license which got expired & can be renewed easily. You can do it on your own if you have a VPS or dedicated server with root access. (if not, then please contact your hosting provider)
Activating your cPanel/WHM License in 3 easy Steps
1. Buy a cPanel licence for your IP, you can confirm your purchase by going to http://verify.cpanel.net & check if the license has been issued to that IP.
Note: You can buy a cPanel license directly from cPanel or from its vendors like buycpanel.com
2. If license has been verified, then open terminal/putty & login to your server
Run the following command
Sample Output on screen
Updating cPanel license…Done. Update succeeded.
perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
LANGUAGE = (unset),
LC_ALL = (unset),
LC_CTYPE = “UTF-8″,
LANG = “en_US.UTF-8″
are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale (“C”).
Building global cache for cpanel…Done
Note: You may/maynot observe the perl warning but the first & last lines are important as they declare that your license has been updated & verified.
3. Login to your cPanel/WHM, it will be accessible.
Let me know if you are facing any issues while activating the cPanel license.
